ORDINANCE NO. 88-11-4158
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND SOUTH OF THE
PRESENT CITY LIMITS AND BETWEEN LONE OAK ROAD AND NORTH
FRIENDSHIP ROAD
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 88-8-4107 proposing the
annexation of a tract of land south of the present city
limits and between Lone Oak Road and North Friendship Road
was approved by the Board of Commissioners on August 9,
1988, and published in The Paducah Sun on August 15, 1988;
and
WHEREAS, sixty days has expired since the publi-
cation of said adoption of ordinance and no petitions op-
posing annexation have been filed with the City Clerk under
the provisions of KRS 81A.420; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Paducah has recommended to the Board of Commissioners that
the property located immediately adjoining the city limits
and presently occupied by Mount Kenton Cemetery and Temple
Israel Cemetery be zoned R-2 (Low/Medium Density Residen-
tial), and the tract of land south of the cemeteries and
owned by Paducah Power System and Columbia Amusement Compa-
ny, Inc. be zoned HBD (Highway Business District) upon
annexation to the City.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
The City of Paducah hereby annexes the
unincorporated territory into the City of Paducah, said
territory is adjacent to and contiguous with the southerly
boundary of the City of Paducah between Lone Oak Road (U.S.
45) and North Friendship Road, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north
right-of-way of Bleich Road and the east
right-of-way of U.S. 45 at the existing city
limits of Paducah; thence in a southerly direction
along the east right-of-way line of U.S. 45, a
distance of 1740 feet; thence in a northwesterly
direction crossing U.S. 45, a distance of 80 feet
to the northeast corner of New Lot No. 1 as shown
by plat of record in Plat Section "J", page 884 of
the McCracken County Clerk's Office, thence N. 60

degrees, 21 minutes and 05 seconds W. along and
with the northerly line of said New Lot No. 1, a
distance of 35 feet; thence continuing along said
lot line N. 36 degrees, 46 minutes 25 seconds E. a
distance of 15.74 feet; thence N. 60 degrees, 21
minutes 05 seconds W. a distance of 81.03 feet to
the beginning of a curve having a radius length of
200 feet, a chord length of 77.26 feet; and a
bearing on the chord of N. 71 degrees, 29 minutes
and 17 1/2 seconds W.; thence along the arc of
said curve concave to the south and continuing
along the northerly line of the aforesaid New Lot
No. 1, a distance of 77.75 feet to the end of said
curve; thence N. 82 degrees 37 minutes 30 seconds
W. a distance of 368.09 feet to the northwest
corner of said New Lot No. 1; thence S. 07 degrees
22 minutes 30 seconds W. along and with the west-
erly line of said lot, 200 feet to the south
property line of the Columbia Amusement Company
property of record in Deed Book 172, page 576, of
the aforesaid clerk's office; thence in a westerly
direction along and with said southerly property
line, a distance of 550 feet to the east
right-of-way line of North Friendship Road; thence
in a northerly direction along the east
right-of-way line of North Friendship Road a
distance of 1706 feet to the existing city limits;
thence in an easterly direction along the existing
city limits a distance of 1350 feet to a point;
thence in a northerly direction along the existing
city limits line 368 feet to a point; thence in an
easterly direction along the existing city limits
a distance of 945 feet to the east right-of-way
line of U.S. 45; thence in a southerly direction
along the existing city limits, also the east
right-of-way line of U.S. 45, a distance of 450
feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The Board of Commissioners hereby
adopts the recommendations of the Planning Commission of the
City of Paducah and places the property into the following
zones: R-2, Low/Medium Density Residential for properties
owned by Mount Kenton Cemetery and Temple Israel Cemetery,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north
right-of-way line of Bleich Road and the east
right-of-way line of U.S. 45 at the existing city
limits of Paducah; thence in a southerly direction
along the east right-of-way line of U.S. 45, a
distance of 1,040 feet more or less, to a point;
thence in a westerly direction crossing U.S. 45, a
distance of 92 feet more or less, to the southeast
corner of the Temple -Israel Cemetery; thence in a
westerly direction along the Temple -Israel Ceme-
tery south property line 550 feet more or less, to
the southwest property corner of the Temple -Israel
Cemetery; thence westerly along the Mr. Kenton
Cemetery south property line 226 feet more or less
to a point; thence along said property line in a
southerly direction 150 feet more or less, to a
point; thence along said property line in a west-
erly direction 754 feet more or less to the east
right-of-way line of North Friendship Road; thence
in a northerly direction along the east
right-of-way line of North Friendship Road a
distance of 1,056 feet more or less, to the
northwest corner of the Mt. Kenton Cemetery;
thence in an easterly direction along the north
property line of the said cemetery, a distance of
1350 feet to a point more or less; thence in a
northerly direction along said property line 368
feet more or less, to a point; thence in an east-
erly direction along said property line a distance
of 881 feet more or less, to the west right-of-way
line of U.S. 45; thence in an easterly direction
crossing U.

A parcel of land owned by Columbia Amusement
Company, Inc. and Paducah Power System will be zoned HBD

south property line of Mt. Kenton Cemetery, a
distance of 754 feet more or less, to a point

more or less, to the southwest corner of the

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two
