AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 93-8-4998
ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH CONTRACTING CO., INC. FOR
RESURFACING VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. Section 1 is hereby amended to read as
follows: "The City of Paducah accepts the bid of Jim Smith
Contracting Co., Inc. for resurfacing various streets during
1993-94 fiscal year in the City of Paducah for the following
prices:

Said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifi-
cations and advertisement for bids, and as contained in the bid
of Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., dated August 17, 1993".
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
a contract with Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., for the
service authorized in Section 1 above, according to the specifi-
cations, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore
approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., will
furnish to the City, within ten (10) days after execution of
said contract, a performance bond in an amount equal to one
hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
SECTION 4. The purchase price for said services
shall be charged to the MAP Account No. 03-22-14-464.

SECTION 5. To avoid penalty charges on the unpaid
balance, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall become effective immediately with one reading.
