HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-8-5183ORDINANCE NO. 94-8--5-1T AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GRIFFIN AUCTION SALES FOR THE PUBLIC AUCTION OF REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME WHEREAS, the City of Paducah owns surplus real and personal property which are no longer of value to the City for governmental purposes; and WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes allow the City to dispose of excess property by public auction; and WHEREAS, Griffin Auction Sales has submitted a bid to the City of auctioning said surplus real and personal property. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a one-year contract with Griffin Auction Sales for the public auction of real and personal City property to be designated by the Board of Commissioners. This contract is attached hereto and incorporated by reference as if set out in full herein. Said Contract may be renewed for two additional one year terms upon agreement by both parties. SECTION 2. Advertising and marketing of surplus fire trucks and heavy equipment needs to be completed before the auction. Due to the auction being scheduled on September 10, 1994, an emergency is hereby declared to exist. This ordinance shall become effective upon one reading.
