AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE PURCHASE
OF TWO 1995 FORD TAURUS AUTOMOBILES FROM TRI -COUNTY FORD -
MERCURY INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,168 FOR USE BY THE PLANNING &
BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, this equipment is available under State
Contract No. BP005854, and competitive bidding is not required.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah is authorized to
complete the purchase two Ford Taurus automobiles in the amount
of $25,168 from Tri -County Ford -Mercury Inc. for use by the
Planning & Building Department and the Community Development
Department.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to execute a
contract with Tri -County Ford -Mercury Inc for completion of the
purchase of two automobiles, authorized in Section 1 above,
according to the specifications and all contract documents
heretofore approved.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to
the following Accounts:
001-0803-516-4005 $12,584.00
001-1201-513-4005 12,584.00
SECTION 4. An emergency is hereby declared to exist
in order to complete the purchase of these vehicles without any
interest charges by the dealer, who failed to notify the City
when the vehicles first arrived. This lack of timely notifi-
cation of arrival by the dealer did not allow sufficient time
for the City give an ordinance two readings to finalize this
purchase.
