AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING ALL FUTURE EDITIONS OF THE BOCA
NATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE UPON ISSUANCE OF SAME, AND
AMENDING SECTION PM -110.1 OF THE EXISTING CODE
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted the BOCA
National Property Maintenance Code, Fourth Edition, 1993, by
Ordinance No. 93-8-4992; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend Section PM -110.1
of said Code and adopt all future editions of the aforesaid
Code upon issuance of same.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. All future editions of the BOCA National
Property Maintenance Code will be adopted upon issuance of said
Code.
SECTION 2. Section PM -110.1 of the BOCA National
Property Maintenance Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"PM -110.1 General. The code official shall order the
owner of any premises upon which is located any structure,
which in the code official's judgement is so old, dilapidated
or has become so out of repair as to be dangerous, unsafe,
unsanitary or otherwise unfit for human habitation or occu-
pancy, and such that it is unreasonable to repair the struc-
ture, to raze and remove such structure; or if such structure
is capable of being made safe by repairs, to repair and make
safe and sanitary or to raze and remove at the owner's option;
"Whenever a valid work permit has been issued to
upgrade or repair a structure on which the code official has
served notice to make corrections or repairs required by such
notice, the upgrade or repairs shall be commenced within ten
(10) days.
"All work shall be conducted, installed and completed
in a workmanlike and acceptable manner so as to serve the
results intended by the order.
"Any cessation of the normal construction or repairs
may cause the permit to become invalid.
"No work permit shall be issued for a structure when
the original permit has become invalid without the applicant
going through the appeals process."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary publica-
tion pursuant to ARS Chapter 4'I A
