HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-2-5444434 ORDINANCE # 96- AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE # 94-6- 5137 AND ADOPTING AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF HYPER FLOC CE 1954, A POLYMER, FROM HYCHEM, INC., FOR USE AT THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT C) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: V SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 94-6-5137, an ordinance authorizing the purchase of polymer number 93LP047 from Nalco Chemical Company, is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay the sum of $1.25 per pound to Hychem, Inc., for the purchase of Hyper Floc CE 1954, a polymer, for use at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Section 3. The aforesaid expenditure shall be charged to account number 055-3303-532-3523. Section 4. Pursuant to KRS 83.060, the City Commission suspends the requirements of a second reading of this ordinance by declaring an emergency to exist, to wit: Polymer is used in the Wastewater Treatment Plant's sludge dewatering process. Its use in the process is necessary on a daily basis. The city's current supply of polymer will be depleted by February 23, 1996, according to best present estimates. The expeditious enactment of this ordinance will facilitate the delivery of polymer and allow the city to continue its sludge dewatering process without interruption.
