HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-8-5549ORDINANCE NO.96-8-55y 9 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE #96-7-5535 AND ADOPTING AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF ALLEN & CO., CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, FOR A COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JULY 1, 1995, TO JUNE 30, 1996, FOR THE SUM OF $38,000, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No. 96-7-5535 accepting the proposal of Williams, Williams and Lentz, LLP, Certified Public Accountants for a comprehensive annual financial report for the City of Paducah from July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1996 and authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract for same; and WHEREAS, a conflict of interest has arisen preventing the execution of a contract with Williams, Williams and Lentz, LLP; and WHEREAS, an emergency still exists for this comprehensive annual financial report; and WHEREAS, the second low bidder has not withdrawn his bid and remains willing to perform under the same terms and specifications. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah repeals ordinance no. 96-7-5535 and accepts the proposal of Allen & Co., for a comprehensive annual financial report of all city accounts, including the general fiord, the police and firemen's pension fund, the appointive employees' pension fund, sewer system funds, parking facility funds, and other incidental accounting services for the sum of $38,000, covering the period from July 1, 1995, to June 30, 1996; said proposal being according to the terms and conditions set forth in the letter of Allen & Co., to the City Finance Director. 1 above. various accounts. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said contract as set out in Section SECTION 3. Payment for the audit expenses set forth in Section 1 above shall be charged to SECTION 4.
