AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH
CONTRACTING COMPANY INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $695,570 FOR THE
1996 STREET RESURFACING AND PAVEMENT MARKING PROGRAM, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid
of Jim Smith Contracting Company Inc. in the amount of $695,570
for the 1996 street resurfacing and pavement marking program,
said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifi-
cations and advertisement for bids, and as contained in the bid
of Jim Smith Contracting Company Inc. of August 21, 1996.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Jim Smith Contracting Company Inc. for
street resurfacing as set out in Section 1 above, according to
the specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents
heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to
Account No. 003-2217-531-4227.
SECTION 4. In order to begin work on this program
before the onset of inclement weather, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective
immediately with one reading.
(7"SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published
pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
