ORDINANCE NO. 96-9-5M7
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY,
TRANSPORTATION CABINET, AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH CONCERNING
CONSTRUCTION OF A CONNECTOR ROAD (EAST MALL ACCESS ROAD)
BETWEEN U.S. HIGHWAY 60 AND OLIVET CHURCH ROAD
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation
Cabinet, and City of Paducah desire to provide for improved
access into the Kentucky Oaks Mall by providing a highway
connection between U.S. 60 and Olivet Church Road; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to construction a section
of this connector road which will consists of 0.378 mile (2000
feet), and the Transportation Cabinet is willing to reimburse
the City an amount not to exceed $250,000 for said construc-
tion.
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and
directed to execute an Agreement between the Commonwealth of
Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, and the City of Paducah for
construction of a connector road (East Mall Access Road)
between U.S. Highway 60 and Olivet Church Road, within the
corporate limits of the City of Paducah. The Commonwealth of
Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, agrees to reimburse the City
an amount not to exceed $250,000 for construction of this 0.378
mile connector road.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two
separate days and will become effective upon summary
publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
