AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WITH THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY JUSTICE CABINET TO OBTAIN A
V MATCHING GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $322,657.00, FOR THE JACKSON PURCHASE
AREA DRUG TASK FORCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to obtain a matching grant from the
Commonwealth of Kentucky Justice Cabinet which funds will be used in relation to the Jackson
Purchase Area Drug Task Force Program.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the Kentucky Justice Cabinet to obtain a
matching grant in the amount of $322,657.00 for the Jackson Purchase Area Drug Task Force
Program. The City will provide matching funds in the amount of $62,813.00 for this project.

SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No. 001-9999-699-
SECTION 3. The deadline acceptance of these funds was July 15, 1997, and
being the completion of this grant is mandatory to receive these funds, an emergency is hereby
6 declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective with one reading.
