AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A REQUEST FOR FUNDS WITH THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY,
EMERGENCY MUNICIPAL AID FUND, TRANSPORTATION CABINET, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $32,000 FOR THE OWEN STREET BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT,
AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS INCIDENT THERETO NECESSARY TO OBTAIN
SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah requests emergency funding to remove the
existing timber structure of the Owen Street Bridge; and
WHEREAS, the bridge is in an unsafe manner and immediate repairs are required.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a request for funds with
the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Emergency Municipal Aid Fund, Transportation Cabinet, in the
amount of $32,000 for the Owen Street Bridge Replacement Project, and any other documents
incident thereto necessary to obtain same.
SECTION 2. An emergency is hereby declared to exist due to the bridge being in
an unsafe manner for the public and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one
reading.
