HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-9-5729212 ORDINANCE NO. 97-9- S 7� 9 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN OPTION TO PURCHASE REAL ESTATE BETWEEN THE PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER CORPORATION AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR f PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, McCRACKEN COUNTY, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Option to Purchase Real Estate for the purchase of real property by the City of Paducah from the McCracken County Convention Center Corporation for the sum of $1.00, for property located in the City of Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky. SECTION 2. This property is more particularly described as follows: TRACTI Beginning at an iron pipe at the intersection of the north line of Adams Street with the west line of 2nd Street; thence northwardly along the west line of 2nd Street; four hundred twenty-three (423.0) feet to an iron pipe in the south line of Clark Street (closed); thence westwardly along the south line of Clark Street (closed), forming an interior angle of 90E O1' with the west line of 2nd Street, ninety-four and seventy-three hundredths (94.73) feet to an iron pipe, said iron pipe being twenty-five (25.0) feet east of the centerline of L&N Track No. 13 as measured along the south line of Clark Street (closed); thence southwardly along a line twenty-five (25.0) feet eastwardly from and parallel to said centerline of L&N Track No. 13, four hundred twenty-five (425.0) feet to an iron pipe in the north line of Adams Street; thence eastwardly along said north line of Adams Street, one hundred forty-three and fifty-eight hundredths (143.58) feet to the point of beginning, containing 1.16 acres, and being a part of the same property acquired by the L&N RR Co., through merger between the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company and The Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway on August 30, 1957, the Agreement of Merger being recorded in Misc. Deed Book 391, page 1, in the County Court Clerk's Office, McCracken County, Kentucky. Excepting, however, from the above described land that portion thereof bounded as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the west line of 2nd Street and the south line of Clark Street (closed); thence southwardly along the west line of 2nd Street 66' 8" to a point; thence westwardly at a right angle to 2nd Street 113' 3 ", more or less, to the west boundary of the above described property; thence northerly along the west boundary of the above described property to the south line of Clark Street / Nil (closed); thence easterly along the south line of Clark Street (closed), ninety-four and seventy-three hundredths (94.73) feet, more or less, to the aforesaid intersection of the west line of 2nd Street and the south line of Clark Street (closed), said portion of the above described land so excepted being a portion of the property conveyed by deed dated October 11, 1919, from James P. Smith, Trustee and Special Commissioner, to Charles K. Wheeler and D. H. Hughes as Trustees, recorded in Deed Book 140, page 483 in the Office of the County Clerk of McCracken County, Kentucky. 213 TRACT II Beginning at a point on the Southeast right-of-way line of Clark Street and being 94.73 feet along said right-of-way from the Southeast corner of the intersection of Second Street and Clark Street; thence, Southwardly 425 feet along railroad right- of-way to a point on the Northwest right-of-way line of Adams Street, said point being 143.58 feet along said right-of-way line from the Southwest corner of the intersection of Second Street and Adams Street; thence, Southwest along the Northwest right-of-way line of Adams Street 35 feet to a point; thence, Northwardly 425 feet along railroad right-of-way to a point on the Southeast right-of-way line of Clark Street; thence, along the Southeast right-of-way line of Clark Street 35 feet to the said point of beginning. The aforesaid property contains 14,875 square feet or 0.34 acre and is subject to all restrictions, covenants and easements of record. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
