HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-9-5720Co gb/03/12/97;34727 Ordinance No. 97 - AN ORDINANCE ENACTING COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. Section 1. Effective July 1, 1997, existing payroll ordinances pertaining to all regular full-time, nonelected city employees, except those designated in paragraph 2 herein, shall be, and are hereby, amended to reflect a 3.5% across the board increase of hourly wages and/or salaries. The aforesaid increase shall be retroactive so as to include all work performed after July 1, 1997, subject to the provisions of Ordinance 80-7-1939, recorded July 8, 1980. Section 2. Hourly wage and/or salaries for the following city employees shall not be adjusted or deemed affected by this ordinance: Employees of the Police and Fire Departments represented by bargaining units. Section 3. The City Clerk shall prepare all necessary amendments to existing payroll ordinances and present same to the City Commission in final form for adoption according to law. Section 4. The City Finance Department is hereby authorized and may implement payroll increases, and retroactive pay, as authorized herein, on the first pay day after final adoption and publication of this ordinance according to law. Section 5.
