AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF BALLISTIC
BODY ARMOR FOR THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, this equipment is available under State
Contract Number BP009194, and competitive bidding is not
required.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Treasurer is authorized
to pay the sum of $19,684 to Second Chance Body Armor Inc.
for the purchase of 76 bullet proof vests for the Paducah
Police Department. The funds for this purchase will be
provided by the Law Enforcement Block Grant Fund.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to
Account No. 001-1602-521-3529.
SECTION 3. In order to take advantage of State
Contract prices before the end of the 1997 calendar year, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
shall become effective immediately with one reading.
