AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO OBTAIN A MATCHING GRANT IN THE
�I AMOUNT OF $375,000, FOR THE UNIVERSAL HIRING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to obtain a matching grant from the U. S.
Department of Justice which funds will be used for a period of three years to hire five sworn
police officers.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the U.S. Department of Justice to obtain a
matching grant in the amount of $375,000 for the Universal Hiring Program. The City will
provide matching funds in the amount of $260,910, for this project.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No. 001-1602-521,
Patrol Division.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
