AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WITH THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR THE 1998 LAW ENFORCEMENT
BLOCK GRANT
WHEREAS, the Ci�of Paducah desires to obtain a matching grant from the U. S.
Department of Justice which funds 'will be used to purchase equipment for the Police Department.

BE IT ORDAINED; BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the U. S. Department of Justice to obtain a
matching grant in the amount of $92,245.00 for the 1998 Law Enforcement Block Grant. The
City will provide matching funds in the amount of $10,249.00, for this project.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No. 001-1602-521,
Project P00012 (1998).
SECTION 3. Due to time constraints to emit this agreement to the U: S.
Department of Justice, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become
effective immediately with one reading.
