AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH
CONTRACTING CO., INC., FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF
BITUM[NOUS CONCRETE (CLASS I, TYPE A), AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City accepts the bid of Jim Smith Contracting, Co.,
Inc., for sale to the City of its requirement of bituminous concrete (Class I, Type a), for
the remainder of 1999 and calendar year 2000, with a one-year option to renew, said bid
being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications, and as contained in the bid of
Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., of June 23, 1999, for the following prices:
UNIT BID
DESCRIPTION UNIT PRICE
Bituminous Concrete Tons $27.00 - delivered
Bituminous Concrete Tons $25.00 - pickup
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract with Jim Smith Contracting, Co., Inc., for sale to the City of the material
authorized in Section 1 above, according to the specifications, bid proposal and all
contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid of June 23, 1999.
SECTION 3. Jim Smith Contracting Co., Inc., will furnish to the City,
within ten (10) days after execution of said contract, a performance bond in the amount of
$1,000.00.
SECTION. 4. This purchase shall be charged to various accounts as
necessary.
SECTION. 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
