AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND AMERICAN
FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AFL-CIO,
LOCAL 1586
WHEREAS, the City and the Union entered into a contract concerning
wage rates and other conditions of employment; and
WHEREAS, the duration of said contract is from April 11, 2000, through
June 30, 2003; and

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract
between the City of Paducah and American Federation of State, County and Municipal
Employees AFL-CIO, Local 1586.
SECTION 2. The renewal date of this contract was scheduled to be July 1,
1999, and it is now ten months later; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one reading.
