HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-8-6255ORDINANCE NO. 2000-8- 6A SS AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 294, "TERM OF OFFICE" OF CHAPTER 114, "UTILITIES", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 294, "Term of Office", of Chapter 114, "Utilities", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 114-294.Term of office. (a) Each member, other than the ex officio member, shall serve for a term of four years. Upon a vacancy occurring, the Mayor, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint a member to complete the unexpired term. (b) A member of the City Commission appointed as the ex officio member of the Water Works Commission shall be appointed for a period of two years. Any such appointment shall not extend beyond the appointee's term of office on the Paducah City Commission. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
