HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-8-6251592 ORDINANCE NO. 2000-8-6251 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN ENCROACHMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND THE RIVER HERITAGE MUSEUM, FOR AN ENCROACHMENT UPON CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY ON MAIDEN ALLEY ADJACENT TO BROADWAY, AND TO APPROVE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIGN AT THIS LOCATION WHEREAS, The River Heritage Museum is the owner of property located at 112 Maiden Alley; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is the owner in fee simple of right-of- way at Broadway and Maiden Alley; and WHEREAS, The River Heritage Museum is desirous of encroaching upon and utilizing a portion of the right-of-way at Broadway and Maiden Alley to construct a sign; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah is desirous of permitting the aforesaid encroachment by The River Heritage Museum; and WHEREAS, the City of Paducah and The River Heritage Museum have now entered into an agreement pertaining to the foregoing and do desire that the same be set forth in writing and be made part of the public records of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and recorded in the Office of the County Clerk of McCracken County, Kentucky. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Encroachment Agreement with The River Heritage Museum for the construction of an off -premises sign to be located in Maiden Alley between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue, adjacent to Broadway. SECTION 2. In order to allow downtown construction to proceed without delay, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance will become effective immediately with one reading.
