HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-1-6606434 ORDINANCE 2003-1-6606 AN ORDINANCE CREATING NEW SECTIONS IN CHAPTER 14, "ANIMALS", ARTICLE H, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, PERTAINING TO THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF ANIMAL FECES. WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Board of Commissioners to protect the public from the degradation of the aesthetic qualities of the City of Paducah and to promote and protect the general appearance and aesthetics of the community; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners hereby recognizes that requiring the public to provide for the sanitary disposal of dog feces within the City of Paducah would further this goal. 10-021111iM NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, SECTION 1. A New Section. A new section shall be created in Chapter 14, Article II, Section 35, of the Paducah Code of Ordinances as follows: Sanitary Disposal of Dog Feces. (a) It shall be unlawful for the owner or person in charge of a dog to permit such animal to excrete feces on school grounds, cily parks, sidewalks or other public property, or on any private property other than that of the owner or person in charge or control of the dog without the permission of the owner of said property unless the owner or person in control of the dog immediately removes all feces deposited by the dog and disposes of same in a sanitary manner. (b) It shall be unlawful for any person to place animal feces in storm sewers or upon the property of another or to dispose of such feces in any manner except b�dgpositing it in a toilet or a covered, fly -tight container normally used forag rbage. SECTION 2.
