AN ORDINANCE CREATING A NEW SECTION IN CHAPTER 14„
"ANIMALS", ARTICLE II, "DOGS" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, PERTAINING TO THE REGULATION
AND CONFINEMENT OF DOGS WITHIN THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners recognizes the desire of some of the citizens of

` the City of Paducah to bring their dogs to special community events; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners further recognizes that if dogs are to be
allowed at special community events, they should be restrained appropriately;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. A New Section. A new section shall be created in Chapter 14,
Article 11, "Dogs", Section 32 of the Paducah Code of Ordinances as follows:
Dogs Permitted at Special Community Events, Restrictions
(a) No person shall bring a dog into an area designated for special community events
during the times such events are occurring unless the dog is:

licensed by the State of Kentucky;
Q restrained by a leash or other lead that is no longer than three (3) feet; and
M restrained by an open-ended muzzle.
fb Special community events include, but are not limited to, the Paducah Summer
Festival, Barbecue on the River, Parades, Saturday Night After Dinner Program,
and other similar events.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Zr 4.
