HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-14-2022JL JAN 0 3 2023 CITY CLERK Paducah Civic Beautification Board November 14, 2022 City Hall In attendance: Karen Petter, Jackie Smith, Wayne Armbruster, John Park, Staci Drake, Carol Vanderboegh, Pam Spencer, Nic Hutchison, Whitney Wallace, Ronna Ward, Paul Grumley, Bruce Carter and Dabney Haugh. I. Meeting called to order by Jackie. II. Phones silenced and pledge recited. III. Reading and approval of the minutes. IV. Reports of Committees: a. Business awards: All submitted were approved. Carol motioned and Paul seconded. Vote: Dabney and Staci accepted. Everyone was encouraged to attend the City Meeting on Tuesday for the awards. b. Treasurer: Ronna reported we have $7168.50 in the account. Lights from DW and plaques are paid. c. Pick up Paducah: Whitney and Bruce reported on their latest meetings. Date will be Saturday, April 22nd, 2023.This will be before Quilt show. The Farmers market will be there and it's Earth Day. There will be a meeting on Dec. 15th with the mayor and city manager to get it sponsored. Bruce and Whitney would like to present a formal presentation. There was discussion of having a contest for how much is picked up by one group. d. Corresponding Sec.: Pam Mani and Laura Kauffman have resigned their positions. A letter was read from the mayor and the trees that were removed on Pines road. The city is working with the tree board and the developer of the site. e. Membership: no report f. House of the month: Michael Blondell and Lindsay Michelson. 640 N. Valley. John reported the POSH magazine will be out soon with the last years HOM. g. Children's Memorial Garden: Dabney reported they will meet with Amy Clark. Possibly choosing another place for the memorial. Southside was mentioned. Discussion on meeting with the mayor. Jackie asked if we could get three things done and not overwhelm the city or our board. h. Tree Board: no report i. Monument Board: no report j. DWT: Bids for signs: Zebra Graphics and Minute k. 1. man. The new signs were shown at the meeting. Decisions need to be made on the size of signs so people can see them. Possible change of the liahted trail is up for discussion. Maybe even taking the lighted trail off the event. There will still be awards. New welcome signs for the city: 6 signs and add 2 more: Cario Rd. and John L. Puryear. Discussions made on the city hall fountain. Jackie asked for a volunteer committee to help. More discussions were about having a AAcar" counter to see how many people are driving through the trail. Lastly, Jackie said she still have t -shirts available. Meeting adjourned at 12:56 pm.
