Paxton Park N C97Y CLERK Paducah KY October 18, 2022 Meeting of the Paducah Golf Commission Meeting called to order by Chairman Rick Loyd at 6:00 PM at Paxton Park. Chairman Loyd led the Commission in the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioners Present: Rick Loyd, Steve Seltzer, Mark Kettler, Mark Knecht, Bill Wells, John Gill & Jeanne Stroup, Secretary. Others Present: Director Daniel R. Mullen Motion by Mark Knecht to approve the July Minutes as written. Motion Second by Bill Wells. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: Director Mullen went over the following Old Business: • Rough budget for Proposed Benefit Scramble • Still on my TO DO LIST-- conversations with Pam Spencer regarding our social media needs. Matt Barker does this sort of service, so we may end up talking to him and getting a bid on the costs of this service. • Still on my TO DO LIST --Status of report to be prepared re the proposed Assistant position(s) to be discussed with the Mayor and City Manager. • Discussed status regarding bids on the tree trim project. NEW BUSINESS: Director Mullen went over the following New Business: • Cutting has begun on dead and select trees down while the ground is dry, and we can get around with the backhoe. • Fall golf course turf preventive maintenance procedures have been mostly completed at this point. • Discussed quarterly financials. • Green fee volume was up 43% in September, and YTD is up 16% after 9 months. October is up 44 % thru the first 2 weeks. This long, dry stretch of weather has been good for business, but presents concerns for grass thru the winter. Commissioner Seltzer proposed changes to cost of living adjustments for next month's meeting, budget workshop. Discussion followed. Discussion on staffing and current need for employees based on demand. Secretary Stroup went over current financials. Motion to Adjourn made by John Gill. Motion Second by Mark Kettler.
