HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-18-2022SEP 16 2022 CITY CLERIC I.The Paducah Creative & Cultural Council convened for a specially Called Council meeting on August 18, 2022. at 5 p.m. in the River Discovery Center Meeting Room 117 S Water St. I. Call to order II. Roll Call: April Cochran, Chad Clark,Cindy Ragland, Shand Stamper, Steven Page, Basil Drosos The following members were not present: Mary Katz, Nic Hutchinson, Morgan Walker, Guests: Ro Morse of Paducah Wall to Wall, Mary Hammond of the Convention Visitors Bureau, and Paula Brasher, new director of River Discovery from Discovery Park. III. A. Cochran Move to accept minutes and C. Clark seconds. No objections. All in favor. Minutes approved. IV. New Business a) Wall to Wall Unveiling - Ro Morse Sept 2nd 3pm Friday afternoon unveiling of the final murals completed by Robert Dafford. Starting a project like this (wall to wall mural project) draws support from the community. *Endorsement opportunities 4 total; include free to monetary options. Refreshments, QR code, canvas with questions to cover painters, $1 OK dollars 4,600 books. Wall to Wall sponsored our meeting at River Discovery center by giving a donation of 10 wall to wall mural books. b.) M. Hammond Shares "Paducah tune' from spotify that is growing in popularity by Nate Frederich. Hammond will present at the September meeting. Americans for the Arts is upcoming and partnership opportunities available for making this happen. c). 2024 Choir Possibilities S. Page Invitation open to cities in our categories. 2 year timeline. Presented theoretical schedule Need: branding from local CVB to help put invitation out there ASAP d) Paducah Garden Club presents: A Garden Club of America "Belong to Your Place" Wendell Berry May 16th and May 17th Carson Center M. Katz and C. Ragland anticipated to be a big deal V. Old Business a. Update for Masterplan - C. Clark S. Stamper and C. Clark have met with Hope Reasons and edited and revised the masterplan. Group input is missing from the masterplan as in vision for activities we want to see as a group. Proposal for a clinic or retreat with mediator to help us craft our masterplan projects/vision. b. Final ount Designer Showhouse fundraiser for Merryman House: Ticket Sales $10,667.04 Art sales $1,047.00 Net - $11,714.04 Resulted in 13 new artist asked to join to directory. C. Holiday Window Display Inhabited building windows will coordinate with Main Street. Uninhabited windows will be used for display C. Ragland has been working on sponsorship S. Stamper will work on call for entries C. Clark will work on finding out info of liability in buildings. VI. Other: Next meeting time will be at 5pm again and we will vote to change at the September meeting. VII. Adjournment: S. Page Moves S. Stamper seconds Meeting adjourned.
