In attendance: Jackie Smith, Karen Petter, Carol
Vanderboeh, Laura Kauffman, John Park, Rona
Ward, Wayne Armbruster, Nic Hutchinson, Bruce
Carter, Candice Griffin, Pam Mani, Ania Lasota,
Monica Felder and Phyllis Clymer
1. Jackie Smith called the meeting to order.
Phones were silenced and the Pledge of
Allegiance recited.
2. Minutes from the July meeting were read and
approved. Carol made the motion and Phyllis
seconded.
3. Committee Reports were given:
TREASURER: Jackie reported we have
$7188.45 in the account. Jackie
reported she sent checks to Paducah
Power. All bills are paid. Jackie and
Phyllis both said they still have
some spotlights for sale.
CORRESPONDING SEC.: Received thank
you notes from Bruce and Pam. We
received a thank you from Beth Dobson
for the new plants.
RECORDING SEC: No report
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Carol reported
they had another meeting and have two
more candidates. Whitney Wallace and
Stacey Drake.
Voting proceeded and both candidates
were voted on the Board. We now have
a full board.
HOUSE OF THE MONTH: John reported
this month's house is Terry and Megan
Murly of 2417 Park Ave.
CHILDRENS MEMORIAL: Dogwoods are
still being watered. Karen suggested
soaker hoses. Dabney said the gators
are up around trees.
GARDEN CLUB LIASON: Ania updated us
on the annual meeting and the plan
making process. Start next spring
with meals. Attendees pay for meals.
Discussion was had for sponsors for
speakers. Jackie suggested CBB donate
$500 towards the meeting. It was
tabled till closer to the meeting and
speakers.
TREE BOARD: No report
MONUMENT BOARD: No report
DOGWOOD TRAIL: Holding pattern for
now. Jackie would like to meet with
the mayor. The city may fund the new
signs for next year.
CIVIC BEAUTIFICATION AWARD: Not much
to report. Paul would like new
suggestions. Possibly to be give in
Oct. Laura found some plaques online
that you could put a picture in.
NEW BUSINESS: Jackie announced about
Master Garden series.
OLD BUSINESS: Pick up Paducah will
take place September loth. Bradon
Throgmorton is Risk Mgt. and Jackie
will touch base with him. Discussion
was cleaning up a square block
downtown. Jackie also read Paul's
letter to mayor about the trees on
Pines Road. It was very well written
and acknowledged our concerns.
