Meeting of the Paducah Golf Commission

Meeting called to order by Chairman Rick Loyd at 6:00 PM at Paxton Park. CITY CLERK
Chairman Loyd led the Commission in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioners Present: Rick Loyd, Mark Knecht, Steve Seltzer, Mark Kettler, John W. Gill,
Bill Wells & Jeanne Stroup, Secretary.
Others Present: Director Daniel R. Mullen
Motion by John Gill to approve the April Minutes as written. Motion Second by Mark
Kettler. Motion carried.
Chairman Loyd requested presentation of Old Business:
Director Mullen discussed status of new practice green. Anticipates it will be
finished this week and be ready for sprigging next week.
Director Mullen discussed status of personnel. New hires are working out well so
far.
Director Mullen informed the Commission that the City stipend has been received
and deposited.
Chairman Loyd requested presentation of New Business:
• Director Mullen happy to report Pepsi has renewed their tournament sponsorship
of the City Am and the Cobb ($7,500). Also, James Marine has renewed their
sponsorship of the City Am ($3,000).
Director Mullen went over City Am budget and changes that have been made.
• Director Mullen went over the Cobb budget, discussion followed with respect to
lease carts, player favors for the tournament.
• Director Mullen informed Commission we have a new event this Friday—Charity
League Golf Scramble with 130 players.
• YTD green fee volume was down 20% in April and is down 20% through the first
4 months. May is back on par with last year.
Director Mullen discussed some course maintenance planned in the coming
weeks.
Secretary Stroup went over current financials.
Motion to Adjourn made by Mark Kettler. . Motion Second by Bill Wells.
