Phone silenced and pledge recited III. Karen passed out the minutes from the Feb. meeting. Motion made by Dabney Haugh to approve. i risn nines 5e4v11ucu. IV. Mayor George Bray introduced the staff attending the meeting from the city. Katie Axt, Nic Hutchison, Daron Jordan (City Manager), and Lindsay Parish (City Clerk). In member attendance: Jackie Smith, Karen Petter, Trish Hines, Ronna Ward, Mary Hammod, Monica Feiler, Ania Lasota, John Park and Paul Grumley. V. Treasurer: Trish reported we have $7,242.94 in the checking account. We have targeted $1700 for Dog Wood Trail, but possibly could give more. VI. Corresponding Secretary: No report VII. Recording Secretary: Karen requested everyone's updated emails and information. It was decided to take Chuck Wahl off the email list since his continues to be returned. Karen will make an updated roster with all members information. Dabney and Phyllis will be updating the by-laws for the board. VIII.House of the Month: John sent around the last few homes that were chosen. Patrice Hoffman from Posh contacted him and they want to do a section in the December 2022 edition. Mary motioned to accept, and Dabney Haugh seconded. IX. Children's Memorial Garden: Dabney reported that the 19 trees will be moved closer to Cario Rd. since the old place holds too much water. X. Garden Club Liason: Ania is working on an updated club list. She is working with the Extension office. We announced the Paducah Garden Club Mayfair on May 18tH XI. Tree Board: no report XII. Monument Board: no report Mayor Bray mentioned this goes through the Parks and Recreation dept. He wants to find ways to make the city more beautiful. The city monument board is non-active. It was reported the city commission board started that board. Monica suggested we clean all the monuments in the city. XIII. Dogwood Trail: Jackie said it may be the first week or second of April. Signup sheet for committees was passed around to members. Members will meet Sunday, March 20th at 1 •.1n n_ m at First Baptist church to hand out flyers. Dabney announced the unofficial new route. Asked everyone to light up. Troutman: we need reflective arrows on the signs. New signs will have one theme and one color. Dabney show samples that Carol had done. Jackie reported she has the PPS spotlights with her and would like us to purchase some. Checks payable to PPS. She asked Andrea Underwood if PPS would sponsor the children's art show. She accepted. Karen will send a thank you know to PPS. John added we add and azalea award and a heritage tree award. Eight awards will be given this year. Paul will oversee the photos of awards. XIV. New Business: City Manager Daron gave a background of his career. Mayor Bray said the commission has a strategic plan meeting set and he make funding plant beautification a priority. There was discussion on recycling, waste pick up with Daron. He also mentioned he will need documentation by late April on plans the CBB wants to do. All requests are to be to him by May 18th so he can add to the budget. Jackie asked for suggestions per email. Trish bought made everyone aware that CBB is responsible for DWT, Annual business award, House of the Month, donations to beautify the city, run our own administration, and that all this is done on $3000 a year. Lindsay discussed the 311 app. One can make a request for a pickup or a report an issue. You can download the app from the app store: mycivic311. Dabney asked Karen to send all email contacts to Mayor Bray. Mary had concern communication is not getting to our senior citizens who do not have email. We need better communication. Discussion was had y ober is doing a great job with that Chris Y�� g g J vard wile pickup and solid waste. Karen asked about glass recycle. Daron mentioned it must go through a third party and there is just nowhere to store it. Announcement was made "dump" day is April 23rd Jackie has spoken to the principals of the schools to get the HS students to attend pickup Paducah day so they can get community service hours. Plan is to get matching bright shirts for the kids to wear. She asked if the city could help pay for the shirts. Mayor Bray will support us. Discussion was had on liability. The parents will need to sign a release form. Date will be the same as "dumb" day. Trish asked if we could use some money to buy them snacks and water. Monica said she has a budget of $550 for the kid's art awards. Added the teachers and kids did not have a lot of time to do the art but got it done. Monica, Jackie and Dabney will meet to judge the artwork. Meeting was adjourned at 1:05 pm. Next CBB meeting will be April 11th, 2022. Respectfully submitted, Karen J. Petter
