CHAIRMAN LOYD LED THE COMMISSION IN THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: CHAIRMAN RICK LOYD, STEVE SELTZER, JEANNE STROUP, BILL WELLS, MARK KNECHT, MARK KETTLER AND JOHN W. GILL, SECRETARY. OTHERS PRESENT: DIRECTOR DANIEL R. MULLEN MOTION BY MARK KETTLER TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 2020 MINUTES AS WRITTEN. MOTION SECOND BY JEANNE STROUP. MOTION CARRIED. CHAIRMAN LOYD REQUESTED PRESENTATION OF OLD BUSINESS: DIRECTOR MULLEN: OUR EQUIPMENT BEING PURCHASED BY THE CITY HAS BEEN PARTIALLY RECEIVED. THE ROUGH MOWER IS HERE AND HAS BEEN USED ON A LIMITED BASIS SO FAR WITH GOOD RESULTS; THE ARIFIER WAS ALREADY HERE; AND THE GREENS MOWER ARRIVED TODAY BUT WE HAVE A LEAK CONCERN THAT WE'LL KNOW MORE ABOUT IN THE MORNING. NEXT MONTH WE EXPECT THE UTILITY VEHICLE AND SPRAY ATTACHMENT. DIRECTOR MULLEN: EQUIPMENT ADDITIONS HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATED TO CITY HR FOLKS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EQUIPMENT INSURANCE. IF WE KEEP THE MOWER TOMORROW, IT WILL THEN BE ADDED TO OUR INSURANCE COVERAGE. DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE CITY STIPEND WILL BE $75,000 AND WE ARE EXPECTING A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES ANY DAY. THIS BEGINS THE DISBURSEMENT PROCESS. DIRECTOR MULLEN: RYAN OLIVER WITH ROK STUDIOS WHO PREPARED OUR DRONE VIDEO A FEW YEARS AGO HAS AGREED TO PUT TOGETHER OUR GO FUND ME VIDEO AT NO CHARGE. COMMUNICATIONS WITH MARK PAGE REGARDING A VIDEO FROM BOTH KENNY AND RUSS HAVE TAKEN PLACE AND WE ARE AWAITING THEIR INPUT AT THIS TIME. DIRECTOR MULLEN: WE WERE ASKED IF ANYONE ON THE COMMISSION WANTS KENNY OR RUSS TO SPEAK TO ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR OR JUST WHATEVER SPEAKS TO THEM THEY WOULD LIKE TO RELAY IN THEIR MESSAGE TO POTENTIAL DONORS. (DISCUSSION FOLLOWED). DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE SENIORS FILLED UP IN ABOUT 10 DAYS AND WE WILL HAVE 100 PLAYERS THIS YEAR. WE WILL PROVIDE HAND SANITIZER ON THE FIRST TEE JUST LIKE THE COBB EVENT. DEAN TERRY WILL BE ABLE TO OFFICIATE THIS EVENT SINCE LOCAL OFFICIALS SIGNED OFF ON THE CART DIVIDERS, WHETHER THE PLAYERS KEEP THEM UP OR NOT. DIRECTOR MULLEN: PRESENTED THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE SENIORS EVENT AND THE BUDGET WILL REFLECT SALES TAX ON ENTRY FEES AND COSTS FOR THE HAND SANITIZER NECESSITATED FOR COVID-19 COMPLIANCE. DIRECTOR MULLEN: NOTED BILL WELLS HAS BEEN WORKING TO SECURE ADDITIONAL SPONSORS ADDING BOTH PADUCAH DERMATOLOGY AND KINNEY SLAUGHTER FOR A TOTAL OF $400.00. DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE KGA MID -AM WENT VERY WELL WITH MANY COURSE COMPLIMENTS. WHILE A SMALL FIELD THE EVENT WENT SMOOTH. CHAIRMAN LOYD: COMPLIMENTED DIRECTOR MULLEN AND STAFF FOR THE EXCELLENT COURSE CONDITIONS AND THANKED THEM FOR ALL THE HARD WORK KEEPING THIS COURSE BEAUTIFUL AND WELL MAINTAINED. DIRECTOR MULLEN: THE SENIOR CUP MATCHES WERE HELD LAST WEEK WITH OUR PAXTON PARK TEAM COMING OUT ON TOP. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE VICTORS. CHAIRMAN LOYD: REQUESTED PRESENTATION OF NEW BUSINESS: MARK KNECHT: SUGGESTED WE HAVE A VOLUNTEER DAY TO FILL DIVOTS ON THE COURSE WHICH WE WILL BLAST OUT VIA EMAIL IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. DIRECTOR MULLEN: HAS DISCUSSED WITH MARK KNECT PAINTING THE PARKING LOT WHICH IS TABLED AT THIS TIME AWAITING WORD ON POSSIBLE PAVING ASSISTANCE FROM THE CITY IN THE NEAR FUTURE DIRECTOR MULLEN: RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE FAMILY OF LONG TIME COMMISSIONER AND CHAIRMAN WILLIAM "BILL" STURGIS. HIS SON CHRIS HAS REQUESTED THE FAMILY BE ALLOWED TO INSTALL A SMALL BRONZE PLAQUE HONORING BILL'S LONG 40+ YEAR TENURE ON THE COMMISSION AND ASSOCIATION WITH THE GOLF COURSE. ALL IN ATTENDANCE WERE IN AGREEMENT AND DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ON HOW TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS PROJECT. THE STURGIS FAMILY WOULD COVER THE COST AND WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A MONETARY DONATION TO THE PARK AS WELL AS A TRIBUTE TO BILL. STEVE SELTZER: SUGGESTED THE PARK CONSIDER SOME SORT OF MEMORIAL WALL FOR THINGS LIKE THIS AND ADDITIONAL RECOGNITIONS GOING FORWARD. DIRECTOR MULLEN: REVIEWED THE STATUS OF PLAY. SECRETARY GILL: UPDATED THE FINANCIAL STATUS AT THIS TIME. MOTION BY COMMISSIONER MARK KNECHT TO ADJOURN. MOTION SECOND BY JEANNE STROUP. MOTION TO ADJOURN: CARRIED.
