ORDINANCE NO. 2001-12- 6 "V 4 -Z
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $107,754.99 WITH WILKINS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH'S STREETSCAPE
PROJECT — PHASE II
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2000-9-6258 to enter into a
contract with Wilkins Construction Company, Inc., in the amount of $1,096,662.11 for the City
of Paducah's Streetscape Project — Phase II; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is required for an increase in the amount of
$107,754.99 for additional work around the Market House, additional work requested by
Paducah Water Works (reimbursed) and additional work to replace electrical receptacles on
Broadway to finalize the project for the above referenced contract, increasing the total contract
price to $1,204,417.10; and
WHEREAS, due to this extra work, winter shut down and downtown events, the
time for completion of the original contract has been extended by 202 days to October 19, 2001.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute Change
Order No. 1 for an increase in the amount of $107,754.99 with Wilkins Construction Company,
Inc., for the City of Paducah's Streetscape Project — Phase II to finalize the project, increasing the
total cost to $1,204,417.10. Due to the extra work, winter shut down and downtown events, the
time of completion has been extended by 202 days to October 19, 2001.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
