Rezoning of Property at 401 Walter Jetton Boulevard
The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance to rezone 2.96 acres of property located at 401 Walter Jetton
Boulevard from R-3 (Medium Density Residential Zone) to B-3 (General Business Zone). The site is the former Walter Jetton
High School. The Marian Development Group is planning to purchase the property for a renovation proj ect called The
Dunlap. The project includes 40 one-bedroom apartment units and 20 two-bedroom apartment units. Symphony Auditorium
and the former library would be renovated into a community service facility providing administrative offices, education and
training spaces, and performance space for two arts organizations. The Paducah Symphony Orchestra (PSO) would be one of
the arts organizations using space for their administrative offices and the hall as a secondary performance space. A second a rts
organization is also proposed to occupy and program the space. This ordinance would also approve a parking waiver variance
to reduce the required number of parking spaces from 471 to 179 spaces . At its August 3 meeting, the Paducah Planning
Commission found that the rezoning and parking waiver were appropriate along with the condition that the property not allow
automotive uses of any type in the future.

• Municipal order approved accepting the donation of property at 612 South 21st Street.
• Municipal order approved to apply for CARES Act funding for COVID-19 relief through the Department of Local
Government in the amount of $1,786,875. This funding application is to reimburse the City’s General Fund for salary
expenditures for police officers and fire fighters. No local match is requir ed.
• Municipal order approved for the purchase of one rear packer refuse collection truck in the amount of $169,249 using
the State contract.
• Municipal order approved accepting the proposed premiums from the Kentucky League of Cities for Workers’
Compensation, Liability Insurance, and Property Insurance coverage. The total amount for all premiums is
$1,222,548.49.
• Municipal order approved accepting the Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $200,000 on behalf
of Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s CenterPoint Recovery Center. An administration fee of $2500 will be paid to the
City. A local match is not required.
• Emergency ordinance approved for a construction contract in the amount of $4.5 million with Pace Contracting, LLC
for the Floodwall Pump Station #2 rehabilitation project. In 2018, the City entered into a contract with Huffman
Construction, LLC for the project. In May of this year, the City terminated its contract with Huffman due to non -
responsiveness on the part of the contractor.
• Ordinance introduced (vote September 8) to amend Paducah Code of Ordinances Section 26-31 and 26-34 related to
Oak Grove Cemetery. The amendment clarifies the definition of a deed.
