The Meeting was called to order by Katie Axt, Downtown Development Specialist. MINUTES –February 25, 2019 MEETING Member McMillan made a motion to accept the minutes of the March meeting as presented. Member Frazier seconded. Motion approved: Vote 5-0 Vote: Yea- McMillian, Poimboeuf, Canter, Frazier Nay-None MONTHLY REINVESTMENT STATS Staff presented an overview update of the Kentucky Main Street reinvestment stats. A handout was given to each member at the meeting. 2019 WORK PLAN DEVELOPMENT Will Report on and refocus once Quilt Week is over and done. 2019 COMMITTEE REPORTS Organization – Zack McMillan Spring Clean Up – April 13, 2019. Went Well. Volunteers came from the Garden Club, the schools and some of the businesses. The Plant Packages went over well. Volunteers 106 Volunteer Hours. One of the ideas is to encourage the Businesses who have Adopt A Spot to maintain their business area year round. Board of Directors Regular Meeting April 15, 2019 3:00 p.m. City Hall Commission Chambers’ Ante Room Minutes Quilt Week April 24-27 – Must Stitch Pattern is done. 35 Total Blocks. Need Instructions with first block (Convention Center) Final One (Must Stitch) 203 Broadway use Bill Board – Visual Quilt Board. It was suggested that maybe there could be a folder to hold quilt collections that would reflect on the City of Paducah. Maybe on the back of the folder have a Cartoon Map of the City of Paducah. Robert Worden who is the head of the City of Paducah’s Ambassadors is a wealth of information. Sarah Waggoner is leaving Org. City Hall Unveiling – May 2, 2019 - 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Mayor - Ribbon Cutting - Heritage Counsel – Meet the Team –School Choir Groups –Library, where Melinda Winchester will discuss the Architect of the City Hall. Design – Jeff Canter - The Design Committee will meet, Thursday, April 18, 2019. There is still much work to be done on the Design Guidelines. The idea is to get through the framework – Zoning Overlay/formal Historic District/Infill Development How do we coordinate and use this in Future Development. Future Reference in Preservation. Promotions – Katie Axt – Merchants Meeting – Good Turnout. Barbecue on the River was discussed. This year Farmer’s Market will not be done in conjunction with Barbecue on the River. There will be changes in the Street Closures. 3rd to Market House Square. 3rd to 2nd to KY Avenue Open. Fleur De Leis around to the Carson Ctr. More Engagement – Extend Sidewalk Café, Beverage Service, Mobile Truck with Tee Shirts, Lawn Games, Picnic Tables. Idea! 300 Broadway Block Party – June 14th or 15th Food Trucks – Music – Lawn Games. Economic Vitality – Jennifer Frazier – Culinary Culture – Internship /Apprentice- Small Scale- Locally. How Do We Draw People To Stay In Paducah. Vetting Process – Job Fair Type of Interviews, so that companies can match their jobs with the type of work interns might specialize in. Flash Interviews.
