ORDINANCE NO. 2001-10-6441
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVEN
DEFIBRILLATORS FROM MEDTRONIC PHYSIO -CONTROL UNDER STATE
PURCHASING CONTRACT FOR USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN
RESPONDING TO MEDICAL EMERGENCIES, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
/ WHEREAS, this equipment is available under State Contract No.
FSSV797P3549J, and competitive bidding is not required.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Finance Director is authorized to pay the sum of
$16,065.00 to Medtronic Physio -Control for the purchase of seven defibrillators for use
by the Fire Department, in compliance with Kentucky State Purchasing Contract.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
Medtronic Physio -Control for the purchase of seven defibrillators authorized in Section 1
above.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be paid from appropriations in the
Fire Department budget for defibrillator grant match and first responder implementation.
SECTION 4. In order to allow the Fire Department to begin the life
saving responses that an expanded first responder service will provide, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one
reading.
