AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
QUITCLAIM DEED AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY BETWEEN THE
COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET AND THE
CITY OF PADUCAH TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF THE ISLAND CREEK
BRIDGE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky is requesting the City of
Paducah to accept ownership and maintenance of the bridge structure over Island Creek
on Bridge Street; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to comply with the request of the
Commonwealth.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to execute a Quitclaim Deed
and all documents necessary between the Commonwealth of Kentucky Transportation
Cabinet and the City of Paducah to transfer ownership of the bridge structure over Island
Creek on Bridge Street to the City of Paducah. By virtue of this conveyance, the City
hereby accepts all rights, responsibilities, liabilities and title/ownership of this property.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
