AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE KENTUCKY
EDUCATION ARTS AND HUMANITIES CABINET, UPPER TOWN HERITAGE
FOUNDATION INC. AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR A $100,000 GRANT FOR
RENOVATION OF THE METROPOLITAN HOTEL MUSEUM
WHEREAS, the 2000 Kentucky General Assembly enacted BB502
authorizing the African American Heritage Foundation Inc. to receive $100,000 to assist
in the construction of the Metropolitan Hotel Museum Project; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Education Arts and Humanities Cabinet is
designed under BB502 as the Grantor of said $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has agreed to serve as the recipient of the
$100,000 of project funds from the Kentucky Education Arts and Humanities Cabinet;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has agreed to provide the Upper Town
Heritage Foundation Inc. said $100,000 for the purposes stated in BB502 and as stated
above.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute
a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kentucky Education Arts and Humanities
Cabinet, Upper Town Heritage Foundation Inc. and the City of Paducah for a Grant in the
amount of $100,000 for renovation of the Metropolitan Hotel Museum.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
