HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 962, Ordinance Number 75-8-1154962 ORDINANCE NO. 75-8-1.154 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-5 "QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS GENERALLY" OF ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 10 "CIVIL SERVICE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 10-5 "Qualifications of applicants generally" of Article I of Chapter 10 "Civil Service" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, shall be amended and reordained so that said section shall hereinafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-5. Qualifications of applicants generally. No person shall be eligible for employment by the city or permitted to take any examination held by the commission, if that person is under eighteen (18) years of age, or is unable to read and write and understand the English language. No person shall be eligible for employment in the finance department, the engineering department or the law department who does not have a high school education." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
