HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 952, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NEW 1975 AUTOMOBILES FOR USE BY THE CITY INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY SECTION 1. That the City ATanager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) new 1975 automobiles for use by the City Inspection Department, said automobiles to have the following minimum specifications: One (1) 1975 Sedan, 4 -door, Medium size automobile Minimum 350 cu, in., 8 cylinder Factory installed air-conditioning Automatic Transmission Power Brakes Power Steering Heavy Duty Alternator Heavy Duty Battery Wheel base, approximately 120 inches HR 78 x 15 Steel Belted Tires Tinted glass One (1) 1975 Two or Four door, economy size automobile 0 cylinder Air-conditioning Automatic Transmission Power Brakes Power Steering Heavy Duty Alternator Heavy Duty Battery Wheel base, approximately 109 inches Tinted glass Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also the amount to be allowed by accepting as trade, in the following: One (1) 1971 Chevrolet, Biscayne, 4 -door sedan, eight cylinder One (1) 1971 Ford Maverick, six cylinder. Each bidder shnll state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit.,t the City Hall to the City Officials it similar car of the r. model bid upon with the equipment offered, and nr,ch bird shall stato the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by it notion posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bid:; in the, SurrDcn:orrat to be published as required by law. All bids shall he sealed and no hid ahrdl be 953 :ceived after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received y the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of bids shall be filed with the oard of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder or bidders, nd the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and ie City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an rdinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
