HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 895, No Resolution Number895 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CLASSROON AND DEMONSTRATION BUILDINGS FOR THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH A CONTRACT MAY BE LET BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of classroom and demonstration buildings for the Paducah Fire Department, said advertisement to be in words and figures as follows: "INVITATION FOR BIDS The City of Paducah, Kentucky, through its Board of Commissioners, will receive bids for the construction of Classroom and Demonstration Buildings for the Paducah Fire Department until 2: 00 p.m., current time, June 5, 1975, at the office of the City Manager, Paducah City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Project consists of a new reinforced concrete Demonstration Building and a single Classroom Building with storage and toilet facilities. Proposed forms of the Contract Documents including Plans and Specifications are on file at the office of Peck Associates, Inc., 801, Citizens Bank Building, Paducah, Kentucky, and may be obtained after May 1, 1975. Copies of the Contract beuments may be obtained by Prime Bidders by depositing $25.00 with the Architect for each set. Bid deposit will be refunded to each Bidder who returns Plans, Specifications, and other Documents in good condition to the Architect by June 16, 1975. Copies of the documents will also be on file at the following plan rooms: F. IV. Dodge Corporation Associated General Contractors Louisville, Kentucky Paducah, Kentucky Evansville, Indiana St. Louis, Missouri SCAN A satisfactory bid bond executed by Bidder and of acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (52) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 1002 of the Contract as provided for in the Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or oil bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner. J. William Howerton City Manager " SECTION 2. The City .Manngor shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for hids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids ahadl be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fired in the notice for tho opening of same. All bids received by the City Maragor up to the time fixed in the Notice for opening of same shall lie filod with the Hrard of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder. $95 i The Board shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
