HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 811, Ordinance Number 75-2-1087ORDINANCE NO. 75-2-.1088 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY TREASURER TO PAY TO THE PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY BICENTENNIAL, COMMISSION A SUM NOT TO EXCEED $2,407.67 FOR EXPENSES INCURRED DURING THE 1974 BICENTENNIAL PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Paducah -McCracken County Bicentennial Commission was formed and staffed through the joint efforts of the McCracken County Fiscal Court and the Paducah City Commission as part of their parks and summer recreation programs, and WHEREAS, at the direction of the aforesaid legislative bodies the Paducah - McCracken County Bicentennial Commission sponsored numerous programs for the citizens of Paducah and McCracken County, Kentucky, and WHEREAS, a complete accounting of all income and expenses now indicates that the Paducah -McCracken County Bicentennial Commission presently has outstanding the sum of $4,815.34 in unpaid statements as a result of the aforesaid activities, and WHEREAS, the McCracken County Fiscal Court has previously agreed to pay one-half of the amounts which are presently outstanding, and WHEREAS, it remains the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that the programs of the Paducah-AleCracken County Bicentennial Commission were valid municipal parks and recreation programs and were educational and beneficial to the citizens of Paducah, Kentucky. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: l SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Treasurer be, and they ! arc hereby, authorized to pay to the Paducah -McCracken County Bicentennial Commission 1 the sum not to exceed $2,407.67, which sum is to be applied to unpaid statements incurred by said Commission during the 1974 bicentennial programs. SECTION 2. That all funds expended by the City under the terms of this ordinance shall be charged to Ceneral Fund Account No. 9094. SECTION 3. This ordinance, shall he introduced and remain an file for public inspection for one week in the eomPlcicd form in which it shall he put upon its final passage, and if adopted shrill be in full force ',fill effect ten days thereafter.
