AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 25-1 "NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES
OF MEMBERS OF DEPARTMENT" OF TIIE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-1 "Number, rank and salaries of members
of department', of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be
amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 25-1. Number, rank and salaries of members of department.
(a) The number and rank of members of the police department of the
City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed
by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:

Chief of Police 1 1,250.00
First Assistant Chief of Police 1 975.00
Night Assistant Chief of Police 1 975.00
Chief of Detectives 1 975.00
Captain 8 840.00
Sergeants 14 785.00
Policemen 40 625.00
(b)The first assistant Chief, night assistant chief and chief of
detectives shall be paid at the rate of $975.00 per month until such time as he
has completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration of 17 years
and until lie has served with the City for a total of 20 years he shall be paid
at the rate of $980.00 per month; and at the expiration of 20 years of service he
shall be paid at the rate. of $985.00 per month.
(c) Captains shall he paid at lite rate of $840.00 per month until they
have served with the city for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 ,years they shall
be paid at the rate of $845.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years they shall
be )mid at the rate of $850.60 per month, and for all months of service after 20
years they shall he paid at the rate of $855.00 per month.
(d) Sergeants shall be paid at the rate of $7855.00 per month for tdl
services through 11 years with the city: at the expiration of 11 years the rate

{ of pay shall be $790.00 per month; at the expiration of 14 years of service the
rate shall be $795.00 per month; at the expiration of of 17 years of service and for

all service thereafter the rale of pay shall be $800.00 per month.

i(e) Policemen shall be paid at the rate of $625.00 per month for the
first 6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city the rate of
pay shall be $685.00 per month; at the end of 1 year of service the rate of pay
shall be $705.00 per month; for all service between the 3rd and 5th years the
rate of pay shall be $727.50 per month; for service between the 5th and 8th years
V the rate of pay shall be $735.00 per month; for all service between the 8th and
` 11th years the rate of pay shall be $742.50 per month; for all service beyond the
11th year the rate of pay shall be $750.00 per month.
i(f) All members of the department shall receive an initial clothing
allowance of $125.00 and in the event such member shall fail to serve in the
department for more than seventy-five days all clothing purchased with the initial

clothing allowance shall be returned to the department.
SECTION 2. Sub -sections (f) and (h) of the existing Section 25-1
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance amends Section 1 of an ordinance originally
enacted on August 5, 1952, and which was last amended by Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 73-12-910, dated December 28, 1973.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
