HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 755, No Resolution Number755 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE: FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING TIME CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENT OF NEW AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES, FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1975, TO DECEMBER 31, 1975 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its requirement of new automobile and truck tires, for the period of time from January 1, 1975 to December 31, 1975, under the following terms and conditions: Each bidder shall state his discount price based on net State prices to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and each bidder shall include all applicable taxes, including, but not limited to, Kentucky Sales Tax. The successful bidder shall be responsible for supplying all requested tires that may be listed on the bid form whether from the bidder's stock or from other suppliers, and all bids for items not in stock by the supplier shall specifically name the manufacturer, type of tire and guaranteed price. The acceptance of any bid shall not preclude the City from purchasing used tires or civil defense surplus tires from any source other than the successful bidder. SECTION 2. The City Manager• shall advertise for scaled bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published for not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of it purchase contract. SECTION 3. This restlution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
