HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 72, No Resolution Number72 4' A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE (1) NEW RIDING TRACTOR MOWER TO BE USED IN THE CEMETERY DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for one (1) new riding tractor mower to be used in the Cemetery Department, said mower to have the following minimum specifications: 1. Engine: To be 12 hp., air cooled, single cylinder, 4 cycle, with compression release. 2. Power Train: Hydrostatic, a self contained unit consisting of a variable displacement piston pump and fixed displacement motor. Free -wheeling valve and control lever. 2-B Transmission: Reduction spur gear drive fully enclosed on cast frame which also houses the differential and bevel drive. Direct drive from differential to axles. Direct drive from engine to hydrostatic unit shall be by solid drive shaft only. (No belts for attaining drive power) Variable speeds up to 8 mph in forward, up to 4 mph in reverse. 3. Steering: Ackerman type with cam and lever. 4. Frame: Pair of steel channels, extending from rear of trans- mission to grille. 5. Brake: Friction caliper type on rear axles. Individual wheel braking controlled by single pedal. (Disk Type) 6. Starter: 32 -amp -hour, 12 volt battery 7. Tires: 23x8:50-12 Rear, 18x6:50-8 Front. 8. Front mounted PTO Clutch 9. Tractor must be equipped with cast iron grille, I section front axle with automotive type steering rods and ends. 10. Rotary Mower: 42" quick attach rotary mower. Cutting range of 1-4 inches. Rotary mower to have three blades mounted on spindles with tapered roller bearings. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening I of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a i contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners 73 shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
