AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20-54 "SAME - PRORATING"
AND SECTION 20-55 "SAME - COLLECTION; WHEN PAYABLE", OF ARTICLE III
"VEHICLE LICENSE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 20-54 "Same - Prorating" and Section 20-55
"Same - Collection; when payable" of Article III "Vehicle License" of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that
said sections as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 20-54. Same - Prorating.
Any person acquiring a motor vehicle, or commencing to operate a motor
vehicle on city streets by reason of employment or new residency in the city, for
which a license is required by this article, after the first day of April shall pay
the following pro rata portion of the applicable license fee:
(1) April (after the first day), May and June 75% of the license fee
(2) July, August and September 50% of the license fee
(3) October, November and December 25% of the license fee.
"Sec. 20-55. Same - Collection; when payable.
(a) The city treasurer is authorized, empowered and directed to collect
the license tax provided for in paragraphs (1) and (2) of section 20-53, which fee
or tax shall be payable on or before the first day of March in each year.
(b) The city treasurer is authorized, empowered and directed to collect
the license tax provided for in paragraph (3) of section 20-53, which fee or tax shall be
payable on or before the first day of April in each year.
(c) The tax upon any vehicle acquired or operated after the date mentioned
in subsections (a) and (b) of this section, whichever date is applicable, in any calendar
year, shall be due and payable at the end of thirty (30) days from the date it was
acquired."
SECTION 2. This ordinance amends Section 4 of an ordinance adopted
December 30, 1937, and last amended by Section 1 of an ordinance adopted March 7, 1967;
This ordinance pertaining to Section 20-55 amends Section 3 (d) of an ordinance adopted
December 30, 1937, which was last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 69-11-261
which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November 11, 1969.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
