HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 635, Ordinance Number 74-7-997635 ORDINANCE NO. 74-7-997 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17-11 "REQUIRED - GENERALLY; EXEMPTION". OF ARTICLE II "OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES GENERALLY" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 17-11 "Required -Generally; exemption" of Article II "Occupational Licenses Generally", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 17-11. Required - Generally; exemption. On and after the first day of January, 1967, and on and after the first day of January in each succeeding year thereafter, it shall be unlawful for any person to engage in any business, trade, occupation, vocation, calling or activity mentioned in this article, in the city, until such person has first paid the amount of license tax to the city treasurer and has obtained a license as specified and required by this article. There shall be exempted from the requirements of this ordinance and chapter those persons who are city residents and over the age of sixty-five (65) years and who anticipate and do earn less than rive thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400.00) in any calendar year from engaging in any business, trade, occupation, vocation, calling or activity mentioned in this article." SECTION 2. This ordinance amends an ordinance adopted on December 20, 1966 and last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 70-11-408 adopted November 10, 1970. SECTION 3.
