HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 622, No Resolution Number622 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) FOUR DOOR COMPACT STATION WAGONS FOR USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO16INIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) new 1974 four -door compact station wagons for use by the fire department, having the following minimum specifications: 6 cylinder engine, minimum 250 cubic inch displacement Minimum wheel base 106 inches Power disc brakes Power steering Automatic transmission Factory installed air conditioning Heater and defroster Minimum 70 amp battery Minimum 50 amp alternator Heavy duty radiator Steel belted radial tires Vinyl interior Tinted glass Color -Fire Chief red Lights to meet all ICC specifications Standard equipment to be described by bidder Spotlight to be furnished by City to be installed on each vehicle Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the vehicles he offers for sale, including all applicable taxes. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bid shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
