HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 611, Ordinance Number 74-6-987611 ORDINANCE NO. 74-6-987 AN ORDINANCE CLOSING CULLY STREET BETWEEN IRVIN COBB DRIVE AND BROWN STREET BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorizing the closing of that portion of Cully Street between Irvin Cobb Drive and Brown Street, described as follows: Beginning at an iron pipe at the point of intersection of the west line of Cully Street and the south line of Brown Street; thence southeastwardly across Cully Street 40 feet to the point of inter- section of the east line of Cully Street and the south line of Brown Street, northwest corner of a lot conveyed to John R. Anderson, Sr. at ux, by deed from Isaac Tharp, single, dated January 4, 1971, recorded in Deed Book 525 page 121, McCracken County Clerk's office; thence at right angles southwardly with the west line of Anderson's lot 80.77 feet to the north line of Irvin Cobb Drive; thence in a northwesterly direction with the north line of Irvin Cobb Drive and across Cully Street 70 feet, more or less, to the southern -most corner of another lot conveyed to John R. Anderson, Sr. et ux. under the aforesaid deed; thence with the southeast line of Anderson's lot northeastwardly 18.8 feet to the west line of Cully Street; thence with the west line of Cully Street 31.48 feet to Brown Street, the point of beginning. The City of Paducah retains a right of way over the entire ares above described, for easement purposes. SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and prosecute, pursuant to KRS 94.360, an action in the McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment ordering the closing of that portion of Cully Street described in Section 1 hereof.
