HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 581, Ordinance Number 74-5-974581 ORDINANCE NO. 74-5-974 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF $10,000.00 TO J. T. ALBRITTON AND WIFE, LOUISE R. ALBRITTON, FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF 9TH AND MADISON STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Treasurer be, and they are hereby, authorized to pay to J. T. Albritton and wife, Louise R. Albritton, the sum of $10,000.00 for the purchase of the real property located at the corner of 9th and Madison Streets in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and which is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the west side of 9th Street, 60 feet South of the Southwest intersection of 9th Street and Madison Street, said point being the Southeast corner of the lot conveyed to Flossie Allen; thence westerly with the South line of Flossie Allen lot 175 feet to a point in the East line of the lot conveyed by Mary F. Calissi, et at, to Henry L. Bradley; thence southwardly with the East line of Bradley lot 123 feet 3 inches to the South line of Tract #1 description in deed to Title Insurance and Trust Company dated November 10, 1934, and recorded in Deed Book 185, page 179, in McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence eastwardly with said South line 173 feet to the west side of 9th Street; thence northwardly with the west line of 9th Street 123 feet 3 inches to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. Prior to the payment of the aforesaid 510, 000. 00, the City Manager and the City Treasurer shall receive from the Sellers, J. T. Albritton and wife, Louise R. Albritton, an approved Attorney's Certificate of Title and a General warranty Deed conveying the aforedescribed property to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, each of the aforesaid items to be prepared at the expense of the Sellers. SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
