A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NEW 1973 ECONOMY TYPE AUTOMOBILES FOR USE BY THE CITY INSPECTION DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for the purchase of two (2) new 1973 economy type auto- mobiles for use by the City Inspection Department, said automobiles to have the following minimum specifications: Four door or two door vehicle Light Blue in color (City Blue or close) six cylinder, 250 cubic inch engine Factory Air -Conditioning Three -speed Automatic Transmission 55 Amp Alternator 55 Amp Battery Wheelbase 109" for four -door Wheelbase 103" for two -door Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also the amount to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1966 Chevy II, two -door coupe, and said vehicle may be inspected on request at the City Hall. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bid shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject 59 any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
