HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 525, Ordinance Number 74-4-95452V' ORDINANCE NO. 14-e-954 I' AMEND SEWER RATE ORDINANCE ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AMENDING THE EXISTING SEWER RATE ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is in the process of arranging to finance the construction of certain extensions, i additions and improvements to the existing municipal sewer system of the City, and WHEREAS, it is necessary in connection with said plan of financing that I the existing monthly sewer rates be increased, NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: I I SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF RATE ORDINANCE OF JULY 20, 1965. That the previous Sewer Rate Ordinance of the City, fixing the sewer rates applicable to sewer service furnished by the municipal sewer system of the City, which Sewer Rate Ordinance was adopted on July 20, 1965, is hereby amended so as to increase the sewer rates for services rendered by said municipal sewer system of the City as follows: SECTION 2. NEW MONTHLY SEWER RATES. That the monthly charge for sewer service rendered by the municipal sewer system shall be based on the quantity of water supplied each month to the respective premises, as recorded on the water meter of each user, and shall be at the rate of twenty-seven cents (27¢) per 1,000 gallons of water used, provided the minimum sewer bill shall be $1.35 per month for the first 5,000 gallons or less of water consumption per month. SECTION 3. ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE OF JULY 20, 1965, RATIFIED AND CONFIRMED. That all provisions of the Sewer Rate Ordinance enacted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah on July 20, 1965, except to the extent amended herein, are hereby ratified and confirmed. SECTION 4. PROVISIONS IN CONFLICT REPEALED. That all ordinances, resolutions and orders, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. if any section, paragraph• clause, or provision of this Ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity of such section, paragraph, clause or provision shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE OF ORDINANCE. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting of the Board of Commis- sioners and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form into which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten days thereafter; provided the increased sewer rate shall be effective only for billings rendered on and after July 1, 1974. n Mayor Introduced by the Board of Commissioners on April 9, 1974 Passed by the Board of Commissioners on April 16, 1974 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk, April 16, 1974.
