HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 520, Ordinance Number 74-4-952ORDINANCE NO. 74=4-952 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTIONS (a), (c) AND (e) OF SECTION 10-53 "REFUSE DEPARTMENT", and SUB -SECTIONS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION 10-54 "CEMETERY DEPARTMENT", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That sub -section (a) of Section 10-53 "Refuse department' of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: Sec. 10-53. Refuse Department. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the refuse (sanitation) department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Base Hourly Rate Collectors (23 positions) 2.98 Truck Drivers Class "A" (3 positions) 3.41 Truck Drivers (8 positions) 3.21 Tire Repairman (1 position) 3.41 Equipment operator "A" (2 positions) 3.71 Mechanic helper 3.41 SECTION 2. That sub -section (c) of Section 10-53 "Refuse department' of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "(c) Collectors shall be paid at the rate of $2.98 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $3.03 per hour; at the expiration of one year $3.08 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $3.13 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. SECTION 3. That sub -section (e) of Section 10-53 "Refuse department' of the Code of Ordinance of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "(e) All other positions of hourly employment, except Class "A" Truck Driver, shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour, 521 such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. SECTION 4. That sub -section (a) of Section 10-54 "Cemetery Department" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-54. Cemetery department. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the cemetery department and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Foreman in charge of department 695.00 Position Base Hourly Rate Truck drivers (3 positions) 3.21 Laborers (3 positions) 2.98 SECTION 5. That sub -section (b) of Section 10-54 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: (b) Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $2.98 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $3.03 per hour; at the expiration of one year $3.08 per hour, and at the expiration of two years $3.13 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." SECTION 6. This ordinance amends an ordinance adopted December 2, 1947, and Sections 1, 1 and 3 were last amended by Ordinance No. 73-8-865, adopted August 7, 1973 and Sections 4 and 5 were last amended by Ordinance No. 73-4-802, adopted April 10, 1973. SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption and retroactive to April 1, 1974.
